VWW & Vermont Green Announce New Partnership
Vermont Works for Women is proud to partner with the Vermont Green Football Club on the More Green More Good partnership during the inaugural season of the club’s women’s team.
Founded in 1987, Vermont Works for Women (VWW) advances economic justice by promoting gender equity and supporting women and youth at every stage of their careers. By providing career exploration, trades training, career coaching, and gender equity consultation and workshops, VWW is helping to build a thriving Vermont for all.
The Vermont Green Football Club, founded in 2022, is a member of the United Soccer League and earned its first men’s national championship last year after going undefeated for the season. After hosting exhibition games for two seasons, the club is launching a full women’s team this summer. Vermont Green believes soccer can be a powerful catalyst for a more environmentally sustainable and socially just world.
Through the More Green More Good partnership, the two organizations are expanding opportunities for female athletes while directly supporting Vermont women. Three women-owned businesses signed on as inaugural partners, providing sponsorships to Vermont Green and pledging $50 per home goal to support VWW’s statewide programs. The 2026 More Green More Good partners include: BirdieBlue, //gametheory, and Ursa Major.
“For decades, women’s sports have been driving a global push for pay equity and female empowerment,” said VWW Executive Director Rhoni Baden. “We were thrilled when Vermont Green announced they would be joining the USL W League, and we’re grateful for their partnership and willingness to try something new with More Green More Good. Not only will this team be making Vermont soccer history, but they’ll also be supporting Vermont women with every goal.”
Co-founder of Vermont Green, Sam Glickman shared, “Launching our inaugural women’s team is a meaningful step forward for Vermont Green, and partnering with Vermont Works for Women strengthens that impact. Together, we’re not only growing the game, but also advancing gender equity and expanding economic opportunities for women across Vermont. This partnership reflects our shared belief that sport can be a powerful platform for positive change in our communities.”
