Afterschool Career Exploration for Middle School Girls*

Since 2000, Rosie’s Girls® has offered middle school girls* the opportunity to explore STEAM and the trades through summer day camps. Now, youth can also experience Rosie’s Girls as an afterschool program in communities across Vermont!

At Rosie’s Girls, youth are introduced to skills and career fields that are nontraditional for their gender through hands-on learning in a supportive and empowering environment. In addition to trades and technical learning, youth learn from our social and emotional curriculum known as “Power Skills” to help them navigate school, friendships, and societal issues. Our staff create a safe space for youth to step outside their comfort zones, make new friends, and build confidence in exploring their passions.

*Rosie’s Girls welcomes into our program anyone who identifies as a girl regardless of assignment at birth. Our programs also welcome youth who are non-binary or gender expansive who are comfortable in a girl-centered space.

Bring Rosie's Girls to your community!

VWW has run Rosie’s Girls camps and afterschool programs in communities across the state and licensed sites throughout the country since 2000.

VWW uses a partnership model to bring the experience and impact of Rosie’s Girls to even more Vermont youth; we train schools, career and technical education centers, and other organizations to host and run their own Rosie’s Girls program.

Partners receive facilitator training and technical support, the complete RG curriculum, and assistance with outreach and registration. Rosie’s Girls EXPLORE partners receive most project materials.
