Youth@Work

Youth@Work provides career readiness and personal development workshops to high school girls*. With an eye on each student’s future, Youth@Work uses a gender-informed lens to educate, prepare, and empower students to pursue education and career pathways that reflect an expansive grasp of what’s possible.

*Vermont Works for Women welcomes into our program anyone who identifies as a girl regardless of assignment at birth. Our programs also welcome youth who are non-binary or gender expansive who are comfortable in a girl-centered space.   

Career Exploration Workshops

Career exploration workshops are offered in a nonjudgmental girl-centered space to allow for peer support and conversations that address unique issues women often face in the workplace.

Workshops are also designed to strengthen students’ confidence and empower them to harness their own skills and strengths as they build their futures. The program consists of a series of learning modules that can be delivered individually or in a series to a cohort of students. 

Topics include Motivation; Time Management & Organization; Advocacy at Work; Communication; Leadership; Marketing Yourself; Personal Finance and more.

Gender Equity Training

Gender equity workshops give youth a space to learn about and discuss gender, including gender bias and norms.

Discussions focus on ways to create inclusive relationships and environments within schools.

Workshop participation is open to all genders. 

Topics include Let’s Talk Gender; Let’s Talk Harassment; Creating Respectful Communities and more.
