FRESH Food is a social enterprise of Vermont Works for Women.
FRESH Food is a culinary training program that prepares underemployed women to work in commercial kitchens and restaurants. Over 13 weeks, trainees assist professional chefs in preparing 4,000 healthy, nutritious meals per month for local childcare centers throughout Chittenden County. As a member of the Vermont Fresh Network, FRESH Food collaborates with 25 Vermont farmers and vendors, locally sourcing about 30 percent of its food.
The mission of FRESH Food is to:
- provide vital on-the-job training for women
- improve the quality of nutrition for children in daycare
- support local agriculture
If your child attends one of the daycare centers we serve, you can view our menu or buy lunch cards online through this page on our new website.
